A walk in the Park

a walk in the park

I said good morning
You said good day
As we passed each other
Upon that day
The marigolds were in bloom
I think it was March or even June
If I remember it was around noon?
  The sunlight was striking
lighting your way
The sounds of birds
singing and at play
the honey bees
Buzzing and making  their rounds
Your hair flowing being jostled  around
I thought Your smile would bring me to my knees
The butterflies were messing within me
My body quivered and my tongue was thick
My knees were weak
I thought I might trip
Since that day I set here a lot
reading my papers In the same spot
Hoping a dream would come true!
Even though heaven is still beneath you
The goddess I remember from that day
Somehow I let float away
It has been twenty years today
At the same time
new paper
new day
As I look up and around
Familiar faces and the same old sounds
My eyes leaped out of my head
There she stood right above me!
Am I living?
am I dead?
Looking down with such a smile
she asks
My, I set with you awhile?
  Finally after all these years
Spring has come
My love is near.
