Fundamental American promise
Of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness
As expressed in the declaration of independence.

Why does it seem like we are going backward?
Taking away rights
to find money backers?
Covering up the past
to hide the shame and hurt
Old America has replanted
old English dirt!
Becoming a land that forces Others
to accept and prosecute
Our sisters and brothers.
Denial is the practice of the day
If we don't see it
it will go away
Gospels that teach hate
in a political meal
To Segregate and not heal
others scream red or blue
It's the colors that separate me from you!
Devouring what is right
At the end of the day
Where did liberty run to
and hideaway?
The Pursuit of happiness is yours and mine
We live together
but we don't share the same mind
Is the light fading fast?
Or will we come together?
And learn from the past?
Genocide is not the way
Experience for all is what we pray for!
Give life to each other and see
This country will be better for our children to see!
